Preserving a dead frog?

Basically I'm doing an art piece and found a dried frog in the garden, I want to preserve and use it because it looks almost prehistoric, I think it is just bones and skin left, however I don't want it in a jar, I want it to be part of my art work, so can it be preserved without being in a jar or bag. Someone said to dip/cover it in glue, would that work??
