So I have known this girl for a year and we were never really close friends, but she always liked hanging out with me. I've always been a huge introvert. I'm an only child, and grew up very shy with little social interaction. Everyone said I would grow out of it, but at 19, I never did. I've noticed very recently that more and more people shout abuse over the littlest of things. Now prongs are abuse, scolding your dog is abuse, leaving your dog outside for any amount of time is abuse. Don't get me wrong I would never scream in my dogs face and leave them outside but it seems like people are making things seem harsher than they are. I can't count how many times I have been told prongs are abuse which I used on my German Shepherd. Now I don't need one and he walks perfectly off leash because of it. Then there are the people who yell "bad dog" in public and some people want to assume they also beat the dog. It seems like more and more people are believing in "positive reinforcement" only now. Shoving a piece of chicken in a stranger aggressive dog isn't always going to train it. Why do you think anything but PR is being frowned on more and more lately? What do you consider dog abuse?

What are your views about prehistoric men do you believe they were a group who died out long before?

Prehistoric simply means "before there was a history", and this dates only back around 5000 years or so. The Neanderthals were a separate sub-species of homo sapiens, and closely related to modern man - although of a separate branch that died out. We shared common ancestors, so the closest analogyy would be to say they were our evolutionary cousins. Modern humans have been around for around 200,000 years, and Neanderthals died out any where from 25-40,000 years ago (by some estimates.) This means humans and Neanderthals coexistedd, and probably interacted with each other, and competed for the same resources. It's also possible, should one or two things have gone differently, that they would be the survivors and we would have been the genetic dead end.

I have been babysitting my niece since my daughter was 3 months old. She is used to being around me and my daughter, therefore, always getting only half of my attentions but it seems lately, since my daughter has been walking and talking (she is 18mo now), her cousin is iffy about her. She's not exactly mean but she's not exactly nice either. I watch another little girl who is only 2 months older than my duaghter and my niece gets along great with her. She holds her hands, asks her to "play" with her things like that, which, I might mention she NEVER does with her cousin. I try not to let it bother me but then she's also starting to act like a baby sometimes, or she'll go to play (sometimes she;ll run to get there first) with a toy as soon as my daughter looks at, or she'll take a toy my daughter was playing with if she drops it or sets it down for a second then parade it in front of her, it seems like almost to get her to take it from her (because no one is allowed to grab toys away from anyone in the house) so I will have to give my kid a time out. Which is another thing....she loves when my daughter gets in trouble (meaning I scold her or put her into timeout) and also loves to try and discipline and yell at her, which I always tell her to stop doing. I love my niece but its getting hard to keep watching her everyday when I sometimes want to just pay special attention to my daughter for even a minute and her cousin suddenly has to pee pee (shes starting potty training) or will suddenly need water or jump in front of my daughter and try to take the attention off of her. I've been going out with this guy I like for only four days , two of those days I didn't see him. Is my dad under a spell?

Everything started a long time ago, probably a year or two. My dad started having many financial problems and unexainable health issues. Its been a long time since we haven't have spare money to spend and we are in debt with many people who try to help us by loaning money. Right now we are on a $25 budget for the whole week. I try to believe that it is a logical and explainable event and that many families have financial problems as well. However, my dad has been having aergic reactions when he is touched by my mom or me. For instance, when my dad got home from work today my mom hugged him and he automatically developed a bunch of tiny bumbs on his skin. It made him extremely itchy, but this is an everyday thing now. He has been having serious leg pains but the doctor couldn't find nothing. I tried to keep myself skeptical of all these events, but today it was creepy. My dad suddenly felt really nauceous and threw up a strange thing. He said it had the shape of a small banana and that it was opaque yellow almost light brown or gray. I'm not sure what's going on, I'm a strong believer of spells and magic, but I'm very skeptical with this. I do believe he is being harmed, but the feeling that it is his fault of our situation is much stronger than my belief. I did however had a sudden urge to do a spiritual cleanse a couple of days ago and i think that is what is causing him to throw up "The Evil". I can go on and on about all of the strange events that are happening. My dad believes that is one of his girl friends from a looooong time ago that still holds a grudge against him because he chose my mom instead of her and her life is not going well. He also has a two friends that are Pagan and witches and they confirm that he is under a spell since half of his face is happy and the other is sad (a very strange expression). I saw that too. I had a very similar problem this year. I was constantly being bullied at my private school, and I felt like nobody would give me the time of day. I went home to my room and cried every day. It was around February when I finally broke down and told my parents that I wanted to go back to the public school. My dad flipped out when I told him that I didn't have any friends, and the thought that I wanted to go back because I wasn't "popular" at my new school (Even though I wasn't popular at my old school.. I had lots of friends, but I was far from the "popular" status, but I was fine with it). Similarly, he yelled at me and told me that I would have to deal with situations like this later on in life, and that it was all my fault that I didn't have friends because I wasn't trying hard enough. It was about a month later that he finally began to understand that I was being bullied, and hated the environment there. Try asking your daughter what is bothering her. If she says "Nothing", then say something like "I don't understand why you stay home all the time. You clearly are uncomfortable with school, and if you tell me what is going on, then we can try to make something work, and I can either help you with the situation or stay out of it." Her biggest fear might be that you will get involved, and the other students will think "Oh haha look, there's Nicole. Her mom tried to rescue her from high school life" or something. I know that was one of my fears. If you finally get to talk to her, and switching schools isn't an option, suggest she get involved in sports or activities. If she still has no luck at school-based sports or activities, sign her up for sports in your town, dance classes, art classes, etc. Even if she is still having a hard time at her school, it can be so much easier when you have friends in other places. I hope that this helps, and your daughter feels better soon. If this doesn't help and you have tried everything, then I would look into getting a counselor. I wish you the best of luck :)

Don't go and do something irrational that will stay with you for the rest of your life, it could be a lot worse, you are not getting physically abused, you have food, clothes, a place to live. Well I was honest again and said "Of course I would be upset, I asked you months ago" however I was peaceful about it and said "Well once again my feelings are hurt, but, I'll get over it. Other friends have told me she's not being much of a friend being so self-centered, which from their point of view that's all they see majority of the time. When she comes over she always sits on the other side of the room and when we are alone she just completely ignores me. The only time she wants ANY interaction now is for me to just scratch her back or rub her feet (I don't like feet at all so that kinda grosses me out). And all she does is look at her phone and talk to every one else except for me and when we do talk it's always her scolding me for something or another. I want to bring all this to light to her but I don't know what to say or how to bring it up, especially since every time I say anything to her like that she blows it up into an argument and makes herself seem like the victim. Ok first off the pup was taken from mom and litter mates to early. That is the first thing working against you. You are going to have biting because normally if the pup stayed with the litter and he bit his litter mates to hard the pups would either bite back or yelp and stop playing. If he bit mom to hard she would put her mouth around his neck and pin him to the ground to tell him she has had enough. So you tapping the dog in the nose is not communicating that you mean enough. You are actually doing the opposite and enticing him to play. Dont tap or hitthe dog he is a puppy not human so it does not have the same meaning to him as it does to us. You should only give him a sharp no. As far as walking a.9 week old puppy he is way to young to umderstand heel. Right now he should just be getting used to walking on a leash period. The come command should only be used for fun right now and never scold him only praise him no matter what if he comes. If he did do something wrong use an entirely different word like get over here or something like that. The sit command at his age should be just that. It does not matter if he gets up the point is he sat and he gets rewarded. Dogs only know black and white. Always use hand signals for each command. Pups of that age should only be learning one command at a time and training sessions should be no longer than 15 minutes. Once he has sit down pat you can move to the next command. The next command should be stay to follow with others.

Why are women so subservient, submissive and downtrodden in eastern cultures?

I'm originally from Bangladesh, a small country in South Asia. Actually, my parents are from there. I was born in Italy. But my roots are from there. I went there a month ago to see my sick granddad. And I am sickened by how the men their treat their women. They treat them like cattle and property. It is a highly patriarchal society. The women cook, clean and look after the children and don't work. 99% of women there are traditional housewives who bow down to their husbands and kiss their feet. My mom however, is a doctor. She is one of the very few women who work. But she still cooks, cleans, looks after my little brother and works. My dad is unemployed at the moment. He doesn't do anything. He just eats, sleeps and goes to the toilet. He occasionally helps my mom. And my parents live in Australia, which is a western society. Sometimes, I wish I could teach my dad a MAJOR lesson. But how? I honestly don't understand how my mom could bear all this. My dad is not that bossy unlike the other Bangladeshi men. He does listen to my mom and he DOES what my mom tells him to do. But he just has a know it all attitude that annoys me. Well, anyway this isn't about my family. It's about my auntie and other women who go through the pain. My auntie is among the 1% who go to work in Bangladesh. She told me her everyday scenario from first thing in the morning is waking up, making breakfast for husband and then apparently getting scolded and getting divorce threats from her husband for making a crap breakfast, then going to work in a crammed bus, and then taking bs from sexist boss. She told me her boss teases and makes fun of her for working because she is a female. Then, after a long & tiring day at work she goes home again to be yelled at by her husband. Her husband accuses her of coming home so late! WTF!!! This is SO messed up! I mean her husband eats FREE, doesn't help around the house at ALL, doesn't work and yet he yells at her for working late so that HE gets his daily bread! And my auntie is actually a housewife. She has to work because her husband either can't find a job or is TOO lazy to work! And the rest of the 99% of women don't even get the chance to work because if they work they APPARENTLY will become DISOBEDIENT to their husbands and fathers and become too smart. They stay home and lick their husbands feet and tolerate their BS. The average Bangladeshi woman is dependent on their male relatives their whole entire life, from birth till death. From birth till maturity she is dependent upon her father. After that she is married off & is therefore is dependent upon her husband. And when her husband is old and retires she is dependent upon her son (if she has one). In marriages, the girl has to go live in her husband's parents house where she serves her husband & in laws, especially her mother and father in law. After that she is pressured by husband & in-laws to give birth to a son. I have seen guys go as far as divorcing their wives and marrying new ones because their ex wives have failed to give birth to a son. The women have no say in public matters and society related issues. They are are usually told to shut up because they "don't know anything". I am horribly disgusted with this disgusting attitude towards women and relieved at the same time because I am lucky enough to not be in their shoes. I want to know why these women are so subjugated and oppressed. I really don't understand. Thank u to people who have decided to read my long and rather boring rant! Anxiety disorder ruining life.?

It definitely sounds like there is more than depression going on.With all the changes happening around you,it can make for a very difficult situation that you are living in.I myself went through anxiety,panic attacks,and felt what you are feeling right now when I was the same age.I am on medication for anxiety,Xanax, as I write this,which has helped.It seems like you need to truly have someone to talk to as well.I know everyone suggests medication or doctors,but those are ways of dealing with it.I pray all the time,when I feel the anxiety building into a panic attack,or when I am severely stressed,and it sounds like you are at the boiling point right now.Do you write in a journal,or go to church? I have been watching the special feature Ancient Aliens in the History Channel and I've had some questions that might be bordering on wild speculation, but I don't really know through which venue I should voice them out so I decided to try Yahoo Answers. Anyway, I've always been amazed with the ancient super structures that have lasted through thousands of years located around the globe, I've always thought that the Earth had gone through a lot of tectonic transformations through the ages that involved earthquakes, tsunamis, and global-wide flooding (ala-2012 movie). With Mesopotamian civilization finding root in 3100 BC (according to Wikipedia) and paleontological evidence pointing to prehistoric life that included the observation of primate development, among other organisms evolving through the ages, could there have been civilizations that were peaking/or at their climax in terms of advancement in the sciences/technology between the prehistoric era and the earliest recorded history as represented by Mesopotamia? If indeed land masses/continents are susceptible to inundations given overwhelmingly powerful tremors (tsunamis) then certainly advanced civilizations prior to Mesopotamia would have been wiped out around the globe. The only evidences left would be the chiseled stones of superstructures, which of course would eventually be weathered anyway during millions or at least thousands of years. If paper was even developed to try and record modern history then, we all know paper doesn't last long, especially when wet and worn out through the ages and explorers of the ancient worlds tampering with them wouldn't have helped preserve the relics anyway. Also, if this "fictional" civilizations I had in mind were able to harness electricity and even develop their own information structure similar to the Internet, then obviously traces of the structures and facilities that were built then would be hard to find if indeed the Earth was flooded to oblivion. I actually thought of these because of the Atlantean myths that have always been a topic for the curious and speculative. Anyway, before the question gets out of hand and sound crazier (I know it already borders on ridiculous) I guess the most realistic question that might serve as the first step for this wondering of mine is, "Are there pedological data that says otherwise?" and "Based on soil layers, can it be verifiable if the planet Earth had experienced massive flooding/inundations during a certain period of its 4.54 billion year history (according to Wiki)?" I'm a short Asian girl, should I be skinny or chubby to look less childish?

Okay so we recently moved into my grandmas house(she died in 2006, other people moved in but then moved out so we bought it) and a lot of creepy crap is happening. I have been a skeptic all my life and i have never believed in ghosts until now. Whenever i would watch a monster or ghost movie i would get bored because i knew it was fake(this started when i was 8).I'm 15 now and thinking completely different about the paranormal. From the second i walked in i felt like i was being watched, at first i brushed it off that all those restless nights packing had gone to my head. All the time though the feeling surrounds me. Sometimes its so intense i feel like i'm going to vomit. I see things out of the corner of my eye, like shadows or things in the mirror. Sometimes i will lose things and find then days later in a completely different place. I hears footsteps outside my door and voices as well. My dog, who has never done this before, stares at my bedroom wall when there is nothing there, he growls sometimes to. My cat refuses to come inside my house and has become an outdoor cat. I read something online that said to get a digital recorder and ask questions, so i went out and purchased one and did so. I got nothing so i turned it on and left the room. My mom and sister were out shopping and my dad was outside with a friend so i thought it was a perfect time to get evidence. I thought i wouldn't get anything, but when i reviewed the recording the was this weird humming, and towards the end this loud growl. It really scared me and made me question my own sanity. I'm currently trying to get it on my computer. My dad says he had nothing happen to him but that his sisters and his mom said the house was haunted but i thought he was just messing with me. But now i think different. I feel like asking his sisters about they're experiences but i don't want them to think i'm crazy. I think i should go to the library and search the history about the area and the house. My dad hasn't had anything happen to him, but my mom has. She said she sees shadows of people outside the window, and sometimes her door will fling open. The door is a heavy wooden door that's hard to open as is, so wind in not a way to debunk it. My sister who is 7 refuses sleep alone. She says there are people in her room. Really i want to know what to do, i can barely stand this stuff any longer! It makes me terrified to sleep in my own bed or be in my own room!

Persistent sleep talking / night terrors?

like clock work, every night i talk in my sleep, apparently i do it for hours if im not snapped out of it. I have night terrors (usually bugs or some creepy crawly's in my bed) about 2 times a week. Then on occasion i sleep walk, like once a month, and just end up waking up on the couch or all my pillows are thrown across the room, that kind of thing. this creepy guy at a bar came up to me, i said i was engaged and he kept harassing me. we move, then my friend suggested we go back since he was gone. he came back in and asked why we were huss's and posers. and i believe he said it more directly to my friend, as i was not the person banishing him from even our periferal vision. I was nice and said i was engaged. when he kept antagonizing I popped him in th enose, then, an all out fright breaks out. "i am a ninja p.s.' basically so me being 5'2" and the dude being whatever dudes are.... i completely handled the situation. her new roommate, her friend, and her did not want me to stay there, so I took a cab home when I could have waited until morning with a train... was i wrong and drunk? the guy was grabbing, and imposing and attempting to install fear in us... everyone is against me.( p.s.) p.s. i am still waisted

Please help.... Today I have a really bad day.... my class have to go to kayaking and the instructors are super fierce.... When I went to kayak, i feel like I am in the army. I tends to be a little bit slow, cant get it straight to the point and have difficulty understanding and the instructors just hurt me both physically(he pull me up from the water rapidly and my butt hit a hard metal) and mentally by scolding me.... I really tried my best and it is my first time kayaking... My friends complain about it too and at the end of the kayaking, I rethink about it and suddenly I feel like crying and I cant control it, it just get better of me and I cried because it was so tiring and scary. My friends questioned me and they tell to my teacher and while I complained to the teacher, I dont know why but my tears were streaming down non-stop, I cant control it and I tends to be afraid of teachers too. I think I have this social anxiety disorder, I am afraid of teachers, afraid of what other people will think of me, I dont dare to speak out. My mum tolds me I am quiet since I was baby... When I was a baby, I dont talk nor cry most of the time, I just stare and stare.... I think I am born being a quiet person... I so tired of being sensitive!

I don't mean to beat on a dead horse, but I have yet to get an answer regarding my question on the Earth's soil layer history. I've always been amazed with the ancient super structures that have lasted through thousands of years located around the globe, I've always thought that the Earth had gone through a lot of tectonic transformations through the ages that involved earthquakes, tsunamis, global-wide flooding (ala-2012 movie), or even the cataclysmic effects brought on by asteroid collisions with the planet Earth. With Mesopotamian civilization finding root in 3100 BC (according to Wikipedia) and paleontological evidence pointing to prehistoric life that included the observation of primate development, among other organisms evolving through the ages, could there have been civilizations that were peaking/or at their climax in terms of advancement in the sciences/technology between the prehistoric era and the earliest recorded history as represented by Mesopotamia? The thing that really prompted me to ask this question was the idea that the development of modern technology has accelerated exponentially for the past 200 years. Now to think about whatever happened between 10,000 BC and 3,500 BC, that's about 6,500 years. Imagine, 200 years in 6,500 years. If indeed land masses/continents are susceptible to inundations given overwhelmingly powerful tremors (tsunamis) then it might be possible that advanced civilizations prior to Mesopotamia would have been wiped out around the globe at that period. The only evidences left would be the chiseled stones of superstructures, which of course would eventually be weathered away anyway by time, through at least thousands of years. Any form of database of all human knowledge would've have been stored in libraries (paper) or data banks (non-paper techniques), which could have all been wiped out and rendered useless for people looking to recover their lost civilizations. I wouldn't expect any single man or woman to have had a monopoly of all that could have been known/discovered, perhaps only a tinge of this and that, which could have allowed people to start-over with the basics in math, the sciences, technology, etc. This is also the reason why we are extremely amazed with the ingenuity of the ancient civilizations, in the construction of the structures and the technology that we think they had employed then. If paper was even developed to be used as a means to record all the knowledge of ancient inhabitants' modern history then, well we all know paper doesn't last long, especially when wet and worn out through the ages, so there would be barely a trace. To put it figuratively, it was as if the reset button had been pressed on human civilization. Furthermore, explorers of the ancient worlds tampering with these discoveries, assuming there were expeditions through 3,500 to 500 by ancient explorers, them tampering or "handling" evidences wouldn't have helped preserve the relics anyway. Also, if this "fictional" civilizations I had in mind were able to harness electricity and even develop their own information structure similar to the Internet, then obviously traces of the structures and facilities that were built then would be hard to find today if indeed the Earth was flooded or erased by some major catastrophic event to oblivion. Anyway, before the question gets out of hand and sound crazier (I know it already borders on ridiculous) I guess the most realistic question that might serve as the first step for this inquiry of mine is, "Are there pedological data that say otherwise?" and "Based on soil layers, can it be verifiable if the planet Earth had experienced massive flooding/inundations, heating, or any type of forceful deluge during a certain period of its 4.54 billion year history (according to Wiki)?" I am hoping that the age-tracking techniques of the Earth sciences would be able to shed light if indeed there have been delineating/detectable periods of extreme earth conditions. I'm just so curious about the experts' thoughts! Thanks for the patience!

As for church, I can' t really say much, but she probably wants you out of the house so that you will not try anything funny. My theory of the megalodon?

Well people say that the megalodon is gone, which is why it's called prehistoric. But has anyone notice over time, things grow or shrink and the megalodon is over millions of years old. My theory is that the megalodon does exist, just it's one of two things, the megalodon has either at the deeps of the sea and is smart enough to not be seen by the human eye. I get that from thinking about their used to be a time when sharks walked on land I don't know how but they did! So they may just be extremely intelligent for their own sake. Or the megalodon has shrunk. So it just appears to be as a great white? No one knows for sure but personally I believe it still exist. But why hasn't anyone thought of that? Or have they?

No I believe that mankind came well after the dinosaurs. Depictions of man and dinosaurs on earth at the same time is a fantasy that play at the imagination of children. First I am middle class. I make $70k a year and every policy that he puts forward hurts the middle class and poor. 1)Taking away oil companies ability to take depletion & accelerated depreciation of its assets (that is the subsidies they refer too) is going to reduce oil exploration and increase the oil company expenses. This will of course cause an increase in heating oil and gas prices. Of course since gas prices will be higher that will cause increase in trucking and shipping and another increase in airfares. So now my necessities (food, heat and gas) are more expensive and if I am able to scrape together enough money for a vacation (which is unlikley) it will be more expensive too. What your moretoreum on oil drilling did not contribute to the rise in oil enough? To top it off the new EPA regualations which is essentially the Cap and Tax law that failed in Congress not only kills jobs in the clean coal industries but will raise my electricity bill as well. Now who does these increases hurt more the middle class or the Fat Cat in his corporate jet? Second in the last few months the President has played 17 rounds of golf (min 2.5 hrs) and held 33 fundraisers (lets say all time included 3hrs each) and then scolds Washington saying he has been there bc he met with each caucus for 1.5 hrs. So that is 142hrs to 6hrs. I guess the heart of this question is how can any regular working Joe like myself defend this policy. Best answer to anyone that can show me the error in my logic.
